Market Madness

DSCN3537DSCN3538DSCN3539DSCN3541DSCN3543DSCN3542DSCN3554DSCN3552

The Third Street South Farmers Market happens every Saturday from 7:30am to 11:30pm year round. The street was packed and there was also an art show at nearby Fifth Avenue, but we were surprisingly able to find parking pretty quickly. There are so many great vendors at the market with something for everyone. We love the Kronuts, but they didn’t have the coconut flavor that we dream about. At least not by the time we got there. How good does the Paella look!? I tried it first in South American and it is pretty yummy here too. I heard about Black Tulip Coffee online and couldn’t wait to try this organic coffee roasted in Naples. It did not disappoint. It is some real cawfee that got me through a busy day of retail. Another thing I could not wait to try was an acai bowl from The Bowl. There were two different kinds, but I tried the cacao bowl. It was worth the long wait and I will probably make this a weekly tradition. As you can see in my pics, there are plenty of things to keep anyone entertained at this market.

So this is the new year.

The night before NYE, I went to Gumbo Limbo at the Ritz with my fam. They said the wait would be 1.5 hours for dinner. What!? It cleared out fast when the sun went down though and we were called about 30 minutes later, after a quick beach walk. They have really great salads so I got one with shrimp. And of course, a pina colada. You absolutely must try their pina coladas.  Yum!

Justin and I went out on Fifth last night and had a blast hanging out with friends. We started at The Wine Loft and ended at Paddy’s, where we danced our butts off. Please forgive the blurry phone pics, we didn’t have a chance to get a good one before we left. Happy New Year, Everyone! I could list a billion resolutions I have made for the future, but instead I will share something cool we do where I work. We pick a word that we are to focus on in the upcoming year. I chose hope for 2016. It is important to always have hope and I am hopeful about a few big things this year. What word will you choose?

Beach Please

DSCN3493.JPGDSCN3487.JPGDSCN3496.JPGDSCN3498

We tried to go to the beach yesterday and drove around for at least 30 minutes since the garage and all nearby lots were full. Darn you, season! I love you and I loathe you. This is the time everyone makes their money since so many people are here on vacation. However, good luck getting anywhere on time…or at all! We ended up driving home, grilling, and reading by the pool. Not a bad day at all. I am in love with this Lilly Pulitzer one piece from earlier in the year. It is pretty high cut which makes your legs look longer. I paired it with some Ray Bans and a super floppy sunhat from Target

I’m reading a fun book right now called Girls Who Travel. It’s about a girl who has a serious case of the travel bug, but ran out of money in her travels and had to go home and work for a while in order to get back on the road. That’s as far as I got, but it’s good. I promise. Happy New Year!

Dress: Lilly Pulitzer Alia Beach Cover Up | Shoes: BCBG (sold out) |  Jewelry: Kendra Scott

I can’t tell you how many compliments I’ve received on this dress. It’s going fast and I couldn’t even find it on the Lilly website anymore. While technically a beach cover up, it is easily converted into a casual dress with the switch of a shoe and addition of accessories. I got these BCBG heels a few years ago and never really wore them until now. I think they are perfect for this look, but may try a wedge next time I work retail for 6 hours. I could hardly walk by the end of the day (haha my bad). Justin gave me the sweet Kendra Scott bling for Christmas and it goes so well with the colors of the dress. I love being in the sunshine and warmth. All I want to wear are bright colors; a nice change from my usual all black attire and combat boots.

A Few of My Fav Things

DSCN3398
I’ve been a fan of Tone It Up since the show Toned Up aired on Bravo. When their book came out, I knew I had to put it on my Christmas list. I can’t wait to try their 28 day program to increased health and happiness.
DSCN3385
I got a NutriBullet for my birthday last year and used it so much that I broke it. My parents found me a new and improved one at Costco. Going to incorporate it into my Tone It Up plan.
DSCN3395
I fell in love with these Molly Hatch mugs at Anthropolgie and love this one my mom picked out for me.
DSCN3424
I had not been to Lush in years and recently spent a looooong time in there. I’ve seen so many neat bath bomb pictures and can’t wait to try mine. Apparently they tie dye your water! Sorry the picture is a little out of focus, but that ocean salt scrub is awesome! It is infused with vodka and also contains avocado butter.
DSCN3431
This is the only place I could find decent lighting haha. This is my absolute favorite new Lilly Pulitzer dress. I’m pretty sure it’s meant to be a beach cover up, but I’m going to wear it as a dress with cute wedges or sandals. The Kendra Scott jewels Justin got me will go perfectly.
DSCN3435
I’m not sure where Justin found this, but he definitely knows what I like. If you know me, you know that I collect mushroom things, particularly vintage kitchen items (strange, I know). I’ll post more about that later…
DSCN3400
This adorable Ohio tumbler from Bed Bath & Beyond is a sweet reminder of where I came from.
DSCN3441
When I was little I had this alphabet book that had some unique animals in it like Quetzal and Narwhal. I had to surprise my mom with this Anthropologie mug as a joke, but it’s so cute! They are the unicorns of the sea, you know… My Chicago roomie got me amazing coffee from Eataly and I think the best coffee creamer is without a doubt Baileys so my mom threw some in my stocking.

Santa was good to me this holiday season. I think I could get used to this not so white Christmas.

Merry Ritzmas!

Every year the Ritz Carlton Naples does a fabulous Christmas brunch which has become a family tradition. It’s nice to be home for the holidays this year since I’m usually out of town dancing. Justin came with us as part of my gift to him and I’m so happy he was there. The Ritz was transformed into a beautiful winter wonderland with a buffet that is UNREAL. Seafood is always a favorite. I had sushi, barbecued eel, shrimp cocktail, lobster bisque and seaweed salad. Next up was an awesome caesar salad and a bunch of cute salads in little jars, the best of which was a Florida citrus salad with tarragon. There was a huge room of hot food where I tried the scallops, shrimp, stuffing, risotto, and root veggies. The champagne was flowing all morning and they had the best bellinis.

Perfect for kids, the Ritz had a giant gingerbread house and a children’s buffet which apparently had a minion theme this year. There was literally a giant minion walking around! haha On top of all that, Santa hangs out by the dessert area (smart guy). Dessert is the prettiest part of the entire brunch and I think we may have tried everything between the four of us. I think the most delish was this dark chocolate bread pudding with Jack Daniel’s sauce. OMG. Before we left, Justin spotted some mini Popes made out of chocolate that were meant to be decorative and just HAD to have one. Totally going to hell for this, but he seriously asked a hesitant waiter if he could take one. Crazy kid. In addition to the Pope, we left with some adorable desserts all boxed up and ready to go with love from Santa.

I’ll post about some fun Christmas gifts soon. Justin and I did our exchange and part of it was some fab Kendra Scott jewelry that I had been eyeing for months. Happy Holidays.
